About the Maatje Backrest
Whether the fabric covering is damaged or you're redecorating your home, the Maatje chair offers the option to easily swap the seat and backrest, giving them a fresh look. Both the seat and the backrest can be removed and reassembled with just a few simple steps.
Circular Economy
To work as sustainably as possible, we strive to reintegrate used but flawless parts back into the cycle. You can order the desired parts here and, upon receipt, use the packaging to return your used parts to us. The individual materials, such as fabric covering, foam, and wood, will then be inspected by us for wear and tear and reusability, ideally giving them a second life. Depending on their condition, you will receive a voucher from us in return.

Interchangeable elements
Our chairs offer the option of changing the covers on both the seat and backrest. This means you can adapt the design to your interior at any time without having to buy a new chair.
Easy-care fabrics
Our upholstery fabrics are made from raw materials manufactured in Germany and woven in France. They are made from pure (partially recycled) acrylic fiber and are characterized by high durability, washability, robustness and easy care. These fabrics are almost pill-free and retain their color despite direct exposure to light. These positive properties are combined with a soft surface to provide pleasant comfort.
